Steve Yanek starts his latest album release “September” at the perfect timing and with the perfect energy…

Steve is based in South Central, USA and he spent 18 months during the pandemic and the lockdown that followed it writing the music for the 10 songs of this album…so there are some personal takes on the artist’s life in this one…music that came from the heart and soul.

“September” can be described as an Americana album with the catchiest of pop and rock musical elements…and it starts with a bang with its first song “Begin Again”…its soaring harmonica and powerful folk-rock energy really sets the stage for an upbeat and bright musical experience.

Steve really shines as a brilliant songwriter with exquisite melodic chops…he’ll have a unique and catchy melody for the verse as strong and impactful as his chorus melodies…it’s endless iconic melodies with Steve.

This shines all throughout the album…

Mixing up the energy is something that Steve also does with confidence…you’ll see his first song “Begin Again” start with a bang, then moving on to “I Could Use A Little Rain” with less energy…than to “Summer Days”, an even more subtle song…Steve is masterfully guiding our emotions and energies through the album…giving us breathers…giving us different emotional reactions…

…the songs in the album have been very carefully put in order to play with the audience’s perceptions and take us through a rollercoaster of emotions.

There are also some songs that really mix things up like “Carousel”…Steve goes with a guitar and vocals approach…and it hits as hard as any of the rest of the more folk rock-focused songs…”Carousel” is a very emotional ride.

Following “Carousel” you’ll find yourself surrounded by some of the most emotional and beautifully written folk songs with “Come Back In” and the dearest to my heart “You Know It’s Right”…the album kind of takes a melancholic turn…and melancholy is my turf, so I found myself in the second part of the album…and I don’t want to leave.

The album build up this whole time to the final song…”September”, the title song of the album…

Steve knocks it out of the park with his musicality with this one…

An emotional tsunami in the form of a folk song… it will bring out the emotions that you might want to keep hidden inside, so its not for the faint of heart.

Steve Yanek is a supremely gifted songwriter and his talents can be seen in its peak with the album “September”…a highly recommended listen to anyone…just anyone…you don’t need to be a fan of a specific genre to fall in love with Steve’s music.
