Get ready to listen to Parallel and their self-title album made of six songs, almost 20 minutes of pure lush and austere, original sound.

Parallel’s music is like a cross over between Arctic Monkeys and Bloc Party. Some guitar riffs give us The Fratellis vibes, while some bass undertones remind us of Interpol.

As hundreds of music artists would relate, this EP was written predominantly during the pandemic, distanced, with masks on. A sense of longing, anxiety and isolation looms large over the record.

“Like a rainbow captured in shades of grey” –, Parallel draws inspiration from kaleidoscopic Post-Punk melodies. Yet, the band still proves to be able to know how to craft beautiful and ethereal melodies while vocals-wise is more psychedelic and dreamy.

The US-based band started playing together in the fall of 2019 and finally made its live debut in July 2021. Their main music influences go from The Chameleons, Sad Lovers and Giants to Slowdive, Wire and Low.

The four-person band released their debut self-titled mini-album on Cherub Dream Records in April 2022 and just went on a West Coast tour from Vancouver to Tijuana in May 2022.

Parallel’s album is hauntingly soft, gentle and distinctly smooth. The conversation between the instruments and the vocals is natural, with a slow and melancholic accent. The final result is a soothing compilation of Dream-Pop sounds.
