Back in 2000, the duo Matthias Pfaller (vocals) and Jørg (simply everything else) decided to form Aeternom. After producing the concept album Fight for the Kingdom and years of performing live, the band members went in different ways. But on May 12th, 2023 the duo dropped their single Here I Stand under Jørg‘s name, a remake of one of their Aeternom collection as they work on new material for their 2nd album Inquisition. Let me tell you more about it.

Jørg opened Here I Stand with a classic virtuoso moment and heavy piano that promises an 80s heavy metal power ballad. The difference between this version’s sound and the original one is huge, he used his magic and boosted its sound into a bigger heart-hitting one with polished production where each and every layer is well heard and felt. Here I Stand has extremely emotional melodies that were smoothly channeled to the listener throughout the powerful vocal melody, heartfelt atmospheric piano, and amazing guitar work with all those rocking licks and “guitar hero” solos. It has a solid structure with an amazing dynamic progression that fits the escalating emotions that are channeled to the listener, keeping him/her engaged and hooked till the very end.

Jørg has outdone himself on this version of Here I Stand, creating a pure old-school piece that brought back lots of memories, proving that pure rock n roll will never die. With his open sound and storming melodies, Jørg can easily find his way into your “Favorites” playlist. Looking forward to more, keep on rocking. Cheers!
