Bluesfest 3

It's with great pride Bluesfest Touring announces one of Africa's greatest singers, Youssou Ndour will play the Sydney Opera House and Melbourne's Hamer Hall in March 2018. Emerging as 'the Michael Jackson of Senegal' at just 12 years of age, Ndour's innovative pairing of fiery political polemics with the revving rhythms of Mbalax beats has seen him tour the world while running for president and campaigning for Nelson Mandela alike. Leading joyous celebrations of African identity, heritage and hope on the world stage, Ndour's siren-like singing is an ecstatic voice for change. According to The Telegraph Ndour is "Africa's biggest music star". He is also known to Australian audiences as a result of his work with Paul Simon, Peter Gabriel and through his smash hit 1994 single "7 Seconds" featuring Neneh Cherry.

Bluesfest 2

Bluesfest Touring welcomes Gomez back to Australia for their first tour in 6 years and the 20th anniversary of their breakthrough album 'Bring It On' that featured the hits "78 Stone Wobble" and "Get Myself Arrested". With so much to celebrate their Perth, Sydney and Melbourne sideshows are not to be missed. The group stood apart from other bands in the Brit-Pop era in their attitude and sound. Typical of this was the comment from the panel of judges for the Mercury Music Prize who described the album as "an intriguing blend of swamp blues, bar-room rock and eerie power."

'Bring It On' was followed by several more critically acclaimed and highly successful records such as 1999's 'Liquid Skin', 2004's 'Split the Difference' and 'How We Operate 'in 2006. Gomez are living proof that perseverance and consistency are qualities to be proud of as the group have ridden out changes in fads and styles around them to maintain their popularity and critical standing around the world.

Bluesfest 4

Canned Heat have been a global phenomenon for 40 years due to their classic anthems such as "On The Road Again", "Going Up Country" and "Let's Work Together". They first gained international attention and secured their place in the pages of rock 'n roll history with their performances at the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival (along with Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and The Who) and as headliners at the original Woodstock Festival in 1969. Bluesfest Touring is thrilled to bring this legendary band back to Australia to share their unique blend of roadhouse electric Blues, Rock and Boogie with audiences in what will be one of their final tours. This is the perfect chance for fans to singalong to the hits with one of the great live bands.

Bluesfest 5

Walter Trout is the beating heart of the modern Blues/Rock scene; respected by the old guard, revered by the young guns, and adored by the fans who shake his hand after the show each night. After five decades in the game and dozens of awards, Trout is a talismanic figure and part of the glue that bonds the Blues community together. He's also the only artist with the vision, talent and star-studded address book to pull off a project on the scale of 'We're All In This Together', his latest album released in 2017. Before you even hear a note, 'We're All In This Together' has your attention. Drafting fourteen A-list stars – including Bluesfest 2018 alumni Eric Gales, Joe Louis Walker and Warren Haynes– and writing an original song for each. His long-awaited return to Australia will be something to bear witness to for those who love their music rich, deep and real.

Bluesfest 6

With musical influences from places as diverse as New Orleans, The Bronx and Puerto Rico, Hurray for the Riff Raff's sound is all their own, sure to delight Australian audiences when they return to Australia in 2018.
The band is fronted by Alynda Segarra, a creative powerhouse who began her musical career when she ran away from home at 17, honing her craft as she busked for survival across America. Their sound has been compared to Gillian Welch, Laura Marling and Rhiannon Giddens and has created a huge buzz -this band has next big thing written all over them! The potent lyrics and danceable beats of Hurray for the Riff Raff will hypnotise Sydney and Melbourne audiences in March 2018.
