A+ A A-

A nice meal of industrial/punkish rock n’ roll that I enjoyed in the morning by the Las Vegas - based band, Psyatics. Famous Monsters is a 14-track album that has songs that are a mixture between speed and slow. How? Let’s find out.

I was curious to listen to Sterlie Jets since I read the album title. No Gods No Loss is the band’s upcoming album which will be released on May 4th on Yesca Rock. They also released ‘Fireside Drive’ on March 8th as the first single and music video. I see Sterlie Jets is a very unexpected music band while you’re listening to, I’ll tell you in right now.

Not a year after the band's release of their last studio album, the band surprises their fans with a new single titled ‘By your side’. The band was already touring last year so that's why a new single this soon was such a surprise to their fan-base all over the world.

It was 17th of February, the day that marked the return of pop-punk giants All Time Low. After two silent years, the band returns with the first single ‘Dirty Laundry’ from their upcoming album Last Young Renegade, along with major news of a label change and a date for album release which is confirmed to be on June 2nd.

One of my favorite adrenaline fix on a late cold night and a scarred moon is to drive through breaking speed limits whilst listening to music that’s angular, raw with solid repetitive riffs in its song structure. Catch 22 by FlipTop Box is one album that definitely takes me into the unknown, throwing me deep into my thoughts on that very cold night.

The Long Dark Road is a Canadian band who enjoys mixing many styles within their music. The band debut self-titled album will be released on April the 8th. The band founder Jeremy Cavan was inspired to name the band after Deafheaven’s Sunbather. He also has written and performed across the world with bands like Jerrycan, Sinister Trailerpark Magic and (U) the band.

Well, I also, had many mixed feelings while listening to this album; let's find out.

Sometimes it's hard to satisfy every musical taste, especially when you play a genre that depends on the listener NOT the musician. Most bands compose their music with vocal lines and lyrics, others don't. Those other bands risk losing out on a huge number of listeners in favor of what they want to do with their instruments. They follow passion and commitment to one type and one genre in order to satisfy their musical needs and satisfy their own genre's fans and to make post-rock emerge once again.

Sometimes life could get too stressful; working, studying, friendship, or all of the above might get to you. Sometimes, you need to zone out, put your earphones on and turn the world around you off. Here are 10 songs we chose for you:

Mythos is one of the Metalcore/Groove Metal bands in the Egyptian Metal Scene. It was formed in 2012 as a tribute band, then they turned to composing their own originals. They contributed in many concerts but only as a tribute band, however, they had their first concert to perform a combination of originals and covers in December 2016 in the latest Metal Grinders Festival concert.

DIVINE is a brutal heavy metal Egyptian band, formed on January 1st in 2005, but they haven’t released any track as they were mainly focused on covers not originals. DIVINE is influenced by: DIO, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Manowar, Testament, and Lamb of God.

Katatonia Live in Dubai

Published in Events & Venus

The night everyone was waiting for: The Swedish metal band in Dubai. JoScene announced it earlier in December 2016 and everyone went crazy. It was hosted again in the almighty Music Room. This is not the first visit for Katatonia to the Middle East as they took part in Beirut Rock Fest in 2011 at the stage of the Roman Amphitheater in Zouk Mikael, but it surely is the first time in the Emirates. Without further ado, let’s jump in the review you’ve been waiting for.

Another interesting demo comes my way – I’ve been listening to some unique experimental stuff these, but ehh, the perks of being a reviewer. So, the band I’m listening to today is an electronic/ambient rock due between Casey Braugner from Portland, who is in charge of the instruments, producing and designing, and Steve More from Calgary, who is in charge of the vocals and songwriting.

When I found the album I thought it’s gonna be a shredder style only, as you find a guitarist instrumental progressive metal album. But I was very stunned with the song structures and melodies indeed. Matt Chanway is an instrumental guitar player and lead guitarist for western Canada’s old-school death/thrash metal act, Assimilation.

The Survival Code is an English alternative rock band formed in 2011. The band released their debut EP in 2012 titled Everything But Today and their debut studio album released in 2015 entitled, MMXV. The Survival Code just released their latest EP last year in September and titled Broken Strings. The EP included 3 tracks which the second single "One" released on January 20 via IRL.
